Longford AC juvenile athletes were out in force in Tullamore on Friday 19th May to compete in the Midlands Inter County match held at Tullamore Harriers Stadium.
Athletes as young as 7 and up 13 years from Longford, Laois, Offaly and Westmeath turned up in large numbers in the wet conditions. Longford had 34 juveniles taking part with a good number of these competing for the first time. Competition events included sprints, middle distance, javelin, shot putt and long jump. Needless to say we are very proud as Longford medalled and were very competitive in all events, 4 Gold, 11 Silver, 3 Bronze were won by Longford on the night.
