Information for all children U9-11 regarding Connacht Outdoor Championships

Children can chose 2 events only and must stay in their own age group:

In the U9-11 age group 2 children work together as a pair\team both entering the same event. The combined distances or combined times are added together for team scoring. Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd teams in each event and the top 3 teams per event in Connacht qualify for National Children’s Games on Sat 27th June 2015.

Each athlete may compete in two events only, with the same or two different partners but you must have a partner to enter.

Athletes can only compete in their own age group (U9 must be born 2007) for the pairs events but they may move up 1 year to be on a relay team.

In U9 & U10 Long Jump competition, athletes may jump from anywhere.  U11 Long Jump competition is from the board. 3 Jumps only per athlete.

In the Turbo Javelin throw as per javelin throw -tip must hit ground first.  One throw per athlete per round with the throw measured to where tip first touches ground.

All 60m, 300m, 500m, 600m races are on times – no finals.  Standing or crouch start is optional. No starting blocks.
