Emma Brennan and Seán Grealy took part in the AAI Games held at Morton Stadium on July 13 and 14. A personal best set by Emma in the 2000m Steeplechase in clocking 7:15 while Seán got in good track time with running two 100m races. Both Emma and Seán are among the club’s entry for this coming weekend’s National Juvenile Championships in Tullamore.
On the roads, John Scott and John Farrell had fine runs at the Edenderry 10 mile on Sunday morning. Patryk Prusak and Nathan Fitzmaurice travelled to the capital for the Fingal 10km also on Sunday with both running well.
Trail Run Series
The Longford Trail Run series returns in August in conjunction with Longford Sports Partnership. Beginning August 7 at 7.30pm, the timed 5km events will again be at a different location on four Wednesday evenings in the month. The Royal Canal loop in Longford town provides the opening setting followed by Corlea Bog, Derrycassin Woods and Newcastle Woods. Registration is open at the MyRunResults website.
